I do a bit of random journaling on my phone notes and I felt like this could encourage someone, so I decided to share 🙂
I’ve been thinking a lot about my blog recently, and I’m glad I did. I had a couple of people speak to me about it… Totally random. I asked God why He led me to start the blog in the first place – I had something different in mind when I set out. It’s been pleasant here and there, but mostly disappointing? I don’t think disappointing is the right word, but it’s close.
This week, I had the privilege of speaking to people who’s writing I admire and they encouraged me – I also had the privilege of meeting Nana Yaa of ordinaryperspectives (yay) which was a really cool experience.
Over the past year I get on average, 6 writing topic ideas each week. They pop up like a light bulb in a cartoon but then, I make a quick check on whether it’s something my readers would like to read- (Ha!)
Today, I asked myself why I’ve accepted that approach to my blog when it is one I veer from in all other things. It is easy to forget the reason why we do things, especially when there is an expectation of the other exciting things that come with it.
When I believe in something, I go all out and act on that belief whether or not someone is watching. Similarly, I realized that I should write, whether or not anyone is reading. I’m one who relies heavily on feedback, so when I realized this is the new path I’m on, it shook me a bit.
I love writing, and I’m not as good as most or as I would like to be; so writing freely as if no one was watching is an exciting new step for me.
I like the sound of that 🙂
