So I was thinking about the concept of change, and this poem came up…
Its interesting the various interpretations I’ve gotten from it, but I hope you enjoy this.
Like a storm in the night,
I didn’t feel you come in
I didn’t see you
I saw what you left behind.
a scent lingering, so strong I can taste you.
Why did you come here?
Your chariots tore through my marshy gardens
Your horses kicked down my fences.
I thought they were strong – they took so long to build.
But their foundation was baseless things.
You swept through my parade,
Broke the membrane of my sanity and
Tore the strings on my instruments
Now, my heart plays a teary tune of tales.
It whispers the sorrow of our history
And gathers the remnants of your invasion.
